Georgia Tax Sale Surplus Funds

Recovered on your behalf. No upfront cost.

When a property is sold at a county tax sale for more than what was owed, the leftover money — the surplus — may be owed to the original owner or their heirs. Most people never know it's there. We help you claim it.

Everrod LLC identifies and recovers excess proceeds from county tax sales across Georgia. If you've received a letter, postcard, or call from us, it's because we've identified a specific property tax sale record and connected funds that may be owed to you or your family.

We work on a strictly contingency basis: there are no upfront fees, no retainers, and no cost to you unless we successfully recover your funds.

Why This Happens

The county keeps the excess unless someone claims it.

When a county sells a property at a tax sale to recover unpaid taxes, the sale price is often higher than the tax debt owed. Georgia law requires the county to hold that difference — the surplus — for the former owner or their legal heirs to potentially claim.

But counties don't proactively track people down, and there are strict procedures and deadlines involved in claiming it. Left unclaimed, these funds can become very difficult, or impossible, to recover later.
